Entrance 
The entrance to Merrywalks is on a steep incline and over rough terrain. This may make entrance uncomfortable for someone in a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
The multi-storey car park has sharp thin turnings which can be quite difficult if in a larger wheelchair accessible vehicle.

Car Park
Merrywalks car park has 205 bays with 5 accessible bays on the same level as the shops. It is recommended that the accessible bays are within 50m from an entrance, which the accessible bays at Merrywalks do not exceed.
The accessible bays are well within minimum requirements. They have combined access on either side of the bay plus access at the back for a rear entry wheelchair accessible vehicle. The common zones on either side are the recommended width of 1.2m. Additionally, the space behind the bay is 1.2m which is beyond recommendations.
There is no clear pathway from the accessible parking bays to the entrance to the shops, and the only course involves crossing the vehicular route. This may cause difficulty for individuals with visual impairments. There is a pathway on the other side which is of contrasting colour, however there are no textured surfaces for crossing.
The entrance to the shops is a clear, wide opening with no steps and plenty of space for wheelchairs.
